Pandemic 2020

After living in California for four decades and traveling to South Africa  irregularly since 1994, I've spent several months of each year of the last six years in KwaZulu Natal.
I grew up in the Valley of a Thousand Hills area then recently moved to the Midlands. Coming back for long periods has been a wild ride. The blog addresses that ride. No time, however, is wilder than this time with a global pandemic gearing up.
Like millions of fellow South Africans, I'm locked down for the next three weeks.
This blog is both a way of sharing the dislocation of this time and of writing to keep sane under lockdown.
The pandemic journal refers to the experience of existing as a bi-cultural woman and resides on my blog, Mothers Speak about War and Terror.
Since the pandemic is of interest to readers beyond South Africa, I'm posting the day-by-day journal on that blog. I hope you'll link to it, and if the spirit moves you, comment.

Good luck out there!
