After living in California for four decades and traveling to South Africa irregularly since 1994, I've spent several months of each year of the last six years in KwaZulu Natal.
I grew up in the Valley of a Thousand Hills area then recently moved to the Midlands. Coming back for long periods has been a wild ride. The blog addresses that ride. No time, however, is wilder than this time with a global pandemic gearing up.
Like millions of fellow South Africans, I'm locked down for the next three weeks.
This blog is both a way of sharing the dislocation of this time and of writing to keep sane under lockdown.
The pandemic journal refers to the experience of existing as a bi-cultural woman so resides on my blog, Mothers Speak about War and Terror. I hope you'll join me on this journey.
